Not a full recap. Just the kisses, chaos, and emotional crimes. 💘✨

📺 Episodes: 16
💋 First Kiss: Episode ?
📍 Streaming On: Netflix, TVing
“Nothing in your description said melodrama… but here we are.” – Zen-ah, betrayed by silence, symptoms, and misleading genre tags.
🤐 Communication? What Communication?

No one in this drama talks.
Scratch that, people do talk… just not to the people they need to.
- Seong Hyo talks to Mo Eum.
- Seok Ryu talks to Mo Eum.
- Do they talk to each other? Nope. Just long stares and awkward silences.
It’s episode 9, and I’m running out of patience. Be adults. Use your words. Stop being your own worst enemies!
🍲 The Porcelain Date and the Porcelain Girl
Even when Seong Hyo takes her out for porridge, SWEET, RIGHT??, she can’t eat it. She needs the bathroom. But she won’t tell him. She finally comes out, and what does he do?
Hands her a bag full of stomach remedy medicine.

She still won’t tell him.
I’m screaming softly into my tea.
🥛 The Milk Deadline is in Jeopardy
Later, we get one truly adorable moment, Seong Hyo walks in on his hyung about to drink the milk he bought as the “deadline milk”, the one tied to when Seok Ryu’s supposed to tell him her answer.
Our boy goes full spazz to protect it. 💥
Honestly? Peak precious chaos.
BUT THEN.
💍 The Proposal That Broke Me (In the Worst Way)
Ex-boy proposes.
She puts the ring on.
WE DON’T SEE HER ANSWER.

Instead, she meets up with Seong Hyo to tell him she’s considering the proposal, because she believes he doesn’t really like her. He just… imprinted on her like a baby duckling??
Excuse me??
Our boy FINALLY stands up for himself.
“You don’t get to tell me how I feel.”
Then he storms off.
YES. DRAMA KING MODE ENGAGED. 👑
😤 Fake Cheating, Real Depression, and I Am So Tired
Seok Ryu ends up rejecting Ex-boy. THANK YOU.
But she tells Seong Hyo they should just be friends. And he says:
“No. I can’t be your friend now.”
Oof. My chest.
THEN we get the full backstory:
- No, Ex-boy didn’t cheat, it was a fake-out flashback.
- During her cancer battle, she fell into a deep depression.
- He didn’t know how to help. He said he “needed to breathe.”
- She was devastated. And honestly? So was I.
💔 Chronic Illness and the Death of Sweet Romance

She says she doesn’t want love because she’s always at death’s door. Her cancer can come back any time. She just wants to use the stomach she has left to chase her dream.
OK SHOW I get that. Honestly I do. I totally relate with my own disease that can put me back in the hospital at any moment.
I understand Seok Ryu because I have lived this uncertainty too. It hits home way too hard. I came here for romance not a drama that mirrors my own life so closely.
👩🚒 Side Couple to the Rescue
Sensing we’re all emotionally wrecked, the show tosses us a Mo Eum x Dan Ho moment. And thank GOD.
They’re watching Yeon Du sleep, talking sweetly, being awkward and adorable. It’s a warm little cinnamon roll moment in the middle of this emotional storm, and I clutched it like a lifeline.
😷 Sickness, Secrets, and the Scene That Shattered Me
Meanwhile, Seong Hyo has worked himself sick. He’s literally collapsed in bed, and guess who shows up to care for him?
Seok Ryu. Of course she does.
He’s mad. Reminds her they’re “done.” But she insists he eat something before she leaves. It’s quiet, raw, tense.

And then…
Her purse is left behind.
Her medical file slips out.
He reads it.
And the world crashes down.
😭 The Breakdown, the Hug, and the Ugly Cry Heard ‘Round the Blog
He confronts her.
She says she didn’t tell him because she knew he’d react exactly like this.
Their argument builds, not realizing they’re being overheard.
Both of their mothers walk in.
Her mom sees the truth.
She grabs her daughter.
And they hug and sob in each other’s arms.
We hear Seok Ryu’s inner monologue:
“I wanted to tell Seong Hyo first. Then get hugged by my mom. And I wonder… if I’d done that, would I have been less depressed after the surgery and chemo?”
Zen-ah. I was GONE.
Ugly sobbing. YOU got ME.
💭 Final Thoughts – This Isn’t the Drama I Signed Up For…
This drama was never a rom-com.
It’s a story about grief, shame, trauma, and slowly healing.
And while I still wish the genre tag hadn’t lied to my face…
While I still want my kiss, my swoon, my soft moments of joy…
I’m starting to see the layers I didn’t expect.
But it hurts in a way that I wasn’t prepared for.
I don’t know how much more I can handle.

💜 Loved this flail? There’s a whole archive of chaos waiting for you.
