“I do not need this level of melodrama pain and sadness, okay?” – Zen-ah, considering faking her own amnesia just to escape the emotional trauma.

😭 Whole Family Breakdown: Cancer Fallout Edition

The truth is out, and the whole family is wrecked. Even though Seok Ryu is healthy now, everyone’s reeling:

Illustration in soft purple tones showing a crying cartoon-style woman with long dark hair, clutching the bars of a jail cell. Large tears stream down her face as she looks distressed, with a broken heart symbol floating beside her. Above her, bold text reads: “IS THIS A ROM-COM OR AN EMOTIONAL HOSTAGE SITUATION?” The design uses a dramatic yet playful style to highlight the intensity of toxic or overly melodramatic romance moments.
  • Mom: Sobbing through every memory of all the ways she pushed, prodded, and pressured her daughter.
  • Dad & Brother: Heartbroken and guilt-ridden.
  • Seong Hyo: Can’t even eat.

We learn he was in the U.S. when she was sick. He went to her place, saw her, almost ran to her… but then saw Ex-boy with her and turned around. Then ignored her for a year. 😤

And now? He realizes he abandoned her when she needed him most.

This show?
I am officially hate-watching it.

I’m giving it until the end of episode 10. If nothing gets better, it’s going in the Zenyalore Trash Chute of Drama Deception™.

💜 Lavender Girls and Kiss Confusion

We get a weird tone-shift, The Lavender Girls (a.k.a. neighborhood moms) gather around Seok Ryu’s mom to love-bomb her into emotional recovery.

Meanwhile, Mo Eum is crying in public and accidentally flips Dan Ho over her shoulder thinking he’s a threat. (Romance?) They end up bonding at his place. We learn:

Whimsical digital illustration of a pastel purple keyboard with angel wings, surrounded by sparkles and glowing light. A golden crown floats above the keyboard, radiating warmth and soft stardust. The dreamy background fades from pink to plum, giving the image a magical, royal vibe, perfect for a sparkle entity who provides emotional support and creative power. 👑🪽✨
  • Yeon Du’s mom passed away in an accident Yeon Du survived.
  • They kiss! 🥰
  • Mo Eum HEADBUTTS him and RUNS AWAY?? 🧍‍♀️💥🧠

This show is testing every ounce of patience in my soul.

😤 Seong Hyo Reads Her the Riot Act (And She Deserves It)

Our boy finally lays it down:

  • She came to him when his mom left for Africa.
  • She helped him out of the dark after his Olympic dream was crushed.
  • But she cut everyone out when she got sick.
  • He didn’t get to show up for her.

And what does she do?
Runs away. Again.

Her parents are crushed. They finally see the truth:

A cartoon-style woman with dark purple hair lies in bed, wrapped in a lavender blanket, looking melancholy. She holds a cup of tea and cuddles a stuffed bear and bunny, while a gray cat plushie rests nearby. On the TV in front of her, a silhouetted couple faces each other with a small heart between them. The scene is cozy but bittersweet, with a soft purple and peach color palette.
  • They babied her brother.
  • Treated her like an adult her whole life.
  • Never supported her like they should have.

She didn’t tell them about the cancer because she didn’t want to be a burden.
She went through something terrifying and isolating alone.

Now they’re on the roof, crying over soju. She overhears. It hurts.

🥹 Emotional Whiplash and Water Therapy

Weirdly, Ex-boy gets a moment of clarity?? He tells Seong Hyo:

“She needs to see your passion. Don’t hold back.”

He also spills that she was massively depressed.

Mom panics when she realizes Seok Ryu’s gone. She calls Seong Hyo, our boy takes off like a rom-com knight.

Large pastel question mark with a soft lavender and blush pink gradient, glowing with a subtle purple aura. The design has a transparent background, styled to match the dreamy, sparkly Zenyalore Kisses aesthetic.

He finds her at the ocean.

She tries to run again from talking about her pain.

So what does he do?

TOSSES HER OVER HIS SHOULDER, marches into hip-deep water, and DUNKS HER.
Drama logic is alive and well.

😭 The Breakdown Scene That Finally Broke Me

She screams at him:

“Why are you always scolding me??”

And he finally confesses the REAL reason:

“I’m mad at myself for not seeing you needed me.”

She breaks.
Ugly cries.
Beats on his chest.
Screams at him for abandoning her.

Cartoon-style illustration of a nervous young man with dark hair wearing a purple blazer and shirt. His eyes are wide with worry, a sweat drop is on his cheek, and he’s holding his clenched fists near his chest. Purple stress lines radiate from his head, emphasizing his anxious expression against a dark gradient background.

And honestly? She needed it.
I needed it.
We all needed it.

Afterward, he forces her to call the hospital for her biopsy results.
It’s not cancer. Just an infection.
And our boy?
Finally exhales.

🎉 Surprise Party, Suit Jacket Tears, and So Much Drama

He calls the fam and sets up a surprise party to “welcome her home.”
Even though she’s been home.
Cheesy? Yes.
Touching? Actually, also yes.

Everyone tells her they love her.
They promise to share the good and bad.
And finally, finally, this broken family feels like it’s starting to heal.

😩 Seong Hyo’s Parents, The Spoon in the Dryer, and the “I Want a Divorce” Bomb

Meanwhile…

Cartoon-style illustration of a black trash bag with tied handles being tossed into a gray wall-mounted trash chute. The bag has motion lines to show it being thrown. The image has a transparent background, designed in a simple, playful style.
  • Seong Hyo’s dad thinks his wife is cheating.
  • She thinks he forgot her birthday.
  • She’s being forced to retire.
  • She’s starting to lose her memory, put a spoon in the dryer, shattered the glass.

She goes to talk to him.
He goes to talk to her.
And what does he say?

“I want a divorce.”

Sir, the trash chute is open. Kindly climb in.

✈️ Ex-Boy Exit, Suit Jacket Hug, and Ugly Cry at the Airport

Ex-boy finally accepts it’s over.
He and Seok Ryu have an actual adult goodbye on the phone.

Blessed relief.

A cartoon-style woman with dark purple hair is sobbing dramatically, with large blue tears streaming down her face. She’s wearing a lavender sweater, clutching crumpled tissues in both hands, and surrounded by more flying tissues. A broken heart icon floats beside her, and above her head, the bold lavender text reads “JUST UGLY CRYING.” The illustration has a soft, glowing purple and peach-toned background, adding to the emotional intensity.

Seong Hyo drives her to the airport for closure.
He even thanks Ex-boy for taking care of her when she was sick.
(Mature King Behavior™)

As she says goodbye, she starts to cry.
Our boy gently puts his suit jacket over her head so she can sob without stares. 🥹

She cries her heart out.
Then they walk out of the airport together.

End of episode 10.

💭 Final Thoughts – Hate-Watching and Healing in Equal Measure

I’m exhausted.
I’m emotionally tenderized.
I’ve filed six sparkle complaints with the drama board.

But somehow…
this episode finally gave me something real.

There’s still no swoon, barely any joy, and way too much yelling, but for the first time, the story feels honest.

Do I still wish I got the rom-com I was promised?

Yes.

Charming cartoon-style fangirl with purple hair and heart eyes, clutching a remote in one hand and her chest with the other in dramatic swoon mode. Surrounded by pink hearts and sparkles, she looks lovestruck and thrilled. Above her, bold pastel text reads “LET’S KISS AND TELL,” setting the tone for a drama breakdown full of romantic chaos and fangirl joy.

💜 Loved this flail? There’s a whole archive of chaos waiting for you.
